Anti-Family California Drives Elon Musk to Take SpaceX and Twitter to Texas
Written by Chriss W. Street
Elon Musk as SpaceX CEO and sole owner of X (formerly Twitter) announced he is moving both companies to Texas in response to Governor Gavin Newsom signing a bill on Monday that makes California the first state in the nation to prohibit public school personnel from telling parents when their children ask to switch names or pronouns.
Musk as Tesla CEO moved the automaker’s corporate headquarters from Palo Alto, CA to Austin, TX in 2021. Musk claimed Texas was more “business friendly”, less subject to environmental assessments, and more workforce friendly than California. He joked that a GigaTexas factory employee could sell their 2 bedroom starter homes in the San Francisco Bay Area and buy a 7 bedroom McMansion on a Texas golf course.
Musk stated on X that he had given prior warning of the California exit to Newsom, “I did make it clear to Gov. Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children.”
Gov. Newsom and State Attorney General Rob Bonta tried to administratively implement their anti-parent trans agenda for years, but were stymied by conservative-led school districts and parents that tied up the effort in courts for years. The Democrat super-majority-controlled Legislature was forced pass a very unpopular trans bill last month and Governor Newsom finally signed the bill on Monday, July 15th.
The New York Times reported that L.G.B.T.Q.I.C. organizations praised the new law because “it would protect the privacy and safety of transgender students, especially those who might fear their parents would not support their identity.”
Elon Musk stated on X said: “This is the final straw. Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.” Musk just a few hours later announced that X will move its “HQ” (headquarters)from San Francisco to Austin, TX.
People Magazine reported in 2022, that Musk’s now 20-year-old daughter had been granted legal permission by a court to shed her Musk name and her gender to Vivian Jenna Wilson. Wilson is the family maiden name of the mother, Justine Wilson.
When asked about his estranged transgender daughter in October 2022, Musk told the Financial Times that his daughter’s decision was caused by “neo-Marxists” professors. Musk claimed he had good relations with all his children, and then added, “Can’t win them all.”
Republican former President Donald Trump as the leading contender to win the 2024 presidential contest, essentially wrote the Republican platform’s parental-rights section that was overwhelming adopted at its Milwaukee convention by voice vote on July 15th.
Trump two days after being wounded in an assassination attempt, trumpeted his agenda for universal school choice, expand parental-rights over education decisions, the end teacher tenure, and a national prohibition on transgender persons from playing girls’ sports teams. He challenged convention delegates to get out the 2024 vote to win majority control in both houses of Congress.
Musk the day after the Trump assignation attempt, put his money where his heart is by endorsing former President Donald Trump. Musk reportedly plans to contribute $45 million per month to the pro-Trump America PAC, according to the Wall Street Journal.
