California Presidential Contributions Headed for All-Time HighCalifornia is on track to dominate presidential campaign contributions in
2024 as both Trump and Biden are both of their fund-raising pace in 2020.
There was no surprise on March 5 when Incumbent Democrat President
Joe Biden and Republican Former President Donald Trump both swept the Super-Tuesday Primary in California, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado,
Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee,
Texas, Vermont and Virginia are holding primaries [Alaska and Utah held
caucuses] to come very close to clinching their parties’ 2024 nomination.
The 2020 presidential campaign was by far the all-time most expensive in
history with a cost of $5.7 billion. The big money tends to be raised over
the summer when both parties have their nomination ticket. But latest
contribution reports reveal that California already leading the way with both candidates having raised almost twice the money than at this time in 2020.
Pres. Joe Biden has raised $105.5 million, with about 61,300 donations
totaling $14.4 million coming from California; while Former Pres. Trump
raised $88.5 million, with about 201,250 donations totaling $8.9 million
coming from California.
