Joe Biden hit a 70-year job approval low average of 38.7% for his 13th quarter as President according to the Gallup Survey that has measured Presidential satisfaction levels for the 9 prior Presidents since Dwight Eisenhower in the 1950s.
Biden’s 13th quarter job satisfaction was far below his 2024 challenger, former President Trump who had a 46.8% approval at the same point in his first term. With just six months to elections, Biden hit a record Gallup 70-year Presidential job satisfaction low.
Biden’s job satisfaction polls crashed from 56% when he first took office to 41.7% at the end of his first year following the disastrous US troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. Biden’s only “dead kitty bounce” in the poll was a 42% high in his seventh quarter in office. But Biden has relentlessly grinded lower in every quarter for the last year.
Biden’s Presidency over the last three months featured plenty of bad geopolitical news with the Israel and Hamas War in Gaza, a losing second year of the Russo-Ukraine War, and massive increases in illegal alien crossings along the U.S. Southern border.
Biden benefited on the economic front from the hot stock market in February and March, but markets took a big dive in April as inflation spiked higher and job growth tumbled lower. As a result, Gallup’s last three Biden monthly job satisfaction polls were 38% in February, 40% in March, and 38% in April.
Biden politically still enjoys an 83% presidential job approval among Democrats, but just 33% of Independents and a measly 2% of Republicans approve of his job performance.
With elections six months away and Democrats unable to use the legal system to keep former President Trump off the ballot, many Democrats want to dump the extremely unpopular Biden as their 2024 Presidential candidate. But the New York Times warns:
“As Long as He's in the Race, the Answer Is No. It is too late for a viable primary challenger to enter the race, and there is no mechanism for the party to choose a different nominee as long as President Biden is running for re-election.”
I am surprised it is that high. Lots of really dumb people out there that must hate America.
