Redding Attorney Lisa M. Jensen was charged by Shasta County District Attorney Stephanie A. Bridgett on three felony charges for allegedly striking and causing a senior great bodily harm while operating an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol.
According to the elderly victim who wishes to remain anonymous, he was taking his regular evening stroll on a sidewalk near downtown Redding, CA on November 17th 2023. The victim had no expectation of risk when he was struck bywoman traveling downhill on a e-scooter at high speed, despite the prohibition of riding on sidewalks.
The victim was knocked unconscious. Someone had already called emergency services and were tending to a woman near an e-scooter by the time he began to wake up. Because he was on blood thinners, the victim stated he had almost “bled out”
Paramedics performed first aid, and transported the victim to Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated for a broken collar bone and an ankle injury requiring stitches. The injuries were so severe, the victim still cannot go on walks.
The victim learned from a police report that the scooter operator was named Lisa M. Jensen, and police had administered a DUI blood test.
Mountain Top Times has learned the scooter-driver was Attorney Lisa M. Jensen. Attorney Jensen currently has a legal offices at 1610 West Street in Redding.
Attorney Jensen promotes on her legal services website that her top two professional “Practice Areas” are DUI and Felony. According to her published Biographical Profile:
“In 2019, I was an invited guest speaker at the California Public Defender's Association's annual DUI seminar in Monterey, where I addressed the topics of blood DUI cases and ethical best practices of defense attorneys.”
Attorney Jensen may need to be a blood DUI expert. The Mountain Top Times is continuing to investigate allegations that Attorney Lisa M. Jensen has at least one prior DUI, and may have had a second DUI. The California State Bar may revoke a lawyer’s bar license if the attorney is a repeat offender for DUI offenses and multiple DUIs can indicate a substance abuse problem.
There had been no press coverage regarding the incident and the few local social media posts were either taken down or faded into the scrolling abyss when the Mountain Top Times began following the incident in February, after neighbors complainedabout the lack of consequences for the offender.
The DA cautioned that Shasta County DUI related prosecutionsare often delayed, because it can “take up to a year to get a toxicology report” back from the State of California lab in Sacramento. Two days before the deadline, the toxicology report came in and the DA came down hard with a serious array of felony and enhanced charges.

This article was updated 11/20 to correct and remove an incorrect job title that was listed. Ms. Jensen did NOT work as a public defender at the time of incident.
This article was updated 12/2 to correct the opening statement from she was indicted to she was charged as they have different meanings and we used the wrong word originally.
