Shasta County Election Hand Counting Cost

With Shasta County currently recruiting for a new Registrar of Voters,  The
Mountain Top Times presents the cost analysis by Chriss W. Street
presented to the Shasta County Board of Supervisors on May 22, 2023.  The
analysis based on the Registrar of Voters own data demonstrated that
the cost to hand tally ballots was $1.85 per ballot, or about four times
cheaper than the cost of machine tallying ballots with the Dominion Voting
System
