Understanding Measles MMR Vaccine & Child Safety
The Independent Medical Alliance as outspoken advocates for medical transparency, produced an interesting report on the appropriateness of MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccine for use in children, and the suppression of open debate on the subject.
There have been lots of media reports hyping public fears about the measles vaccine, after a six-year-old girl died that had not received the MMR vaccine. The furor died down after it was determined the child was originally diagnosed with a bacterial pneumoniainfection and sadly passed away. Despite the facts, mainstream media hammered on the tragedy to justifymass vaccination efforts and public health alarmism.
According to IMA President & Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joseph Varon and IMA Senior Fellow pediatricians Dr. Elizabeth Mumper and Dr. Renata Moon; parents need to know the facts about measles and the broader implications for informed parental consent.
Dr. Mumper reported that although measles was once a routine childhood illness, “The mortality rate is extremely low”… “because kids, especially if they’re healthy beforehand, just do not typically die of measles,” as shown below:
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that causes a characteristic rash, fever, cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes. The death rate from measles according to the Centers for Disease iControl and Prevention is estimated to be 1 in 500,000” as shown below. Furthermore, “before vaccination, most children recovered without complications and even gained long-term health benefits from natural measles immunity.”
According to Dr. Moon: “We have had anywhere from one to two measles fatalities in the last 10-plus years. That number is so tiny that the level of fearmongering we’re seeing in our media is just reminiscent of what happened with COVID, where they were pushing this fear that your child would die.”
Dr. Moon blames the media for “conflating mild measles cases with severe complications that are rare in well-nourished children with access to medical care.” Despite demands for universal vaccinations of children that cities such as Houston have implemented, Dr. Mumper helps to clarify that:
“We know that when you first get the measles vaccine, your vitamin A levels drop for 9 to 14 days. And vitamin A is actually one of the very protective mechanisms that our body has to defend us against measles. In fact, in the third world, the WHO recommends high-dose vitamin A for measles treatment because it dramatically reduces complications.”
Those children that do get MMR vaccinations may still contract measles, and over time the vaccine immunity will fade. But here are the official statistics over the last 25 years for measles deaths, and for MMR vaccine related deaths:
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was sworn in six weeks ago as the 26th Secretary off the U.S. Health & Human Services Department that manages a $2 billion budget, then joined President Trump during his signing of an Executive Order to form the ‘Make America Healthy Again Commission’ to investigate and address the root causes of America’s escalating health crisis, with a focus on childhood chronic disease.
Secretary Kennedy responded by stating: “I have prayed each morning for the past two decades for God to put me in a position to solve the childhood chronic disease epidemic … and now, thanks to you Mr. President, we will make this promise a reality.”
